Chemican GmbH was founded in 2010 by Dr Alan Henderson; the company is based in and registered in Switzerland in the Bern area.

2003-2010 Director R&D and Technical Service, Blaser Swisslube. A lubricants company in the Bern area. Member of the Executive Board. Led the REACH, CLP and BPD programmes. Responsible for global product development.

1999-2003 CTO WBB Minerals. A speciality minerals group based in the UK and Germany. Board Member. Directed as site re-location programme and directed research, development and technical service globally.

1993-1999 Director R&D and Technical Service, Grace Davison, Worms, Germany. A speciality inorganic chemicals and catalyst company. Board Member. Designed and implemented group strategy programme. Successfully directed product development in the coatings, plastics, molecular sieve and food based business areas.

1985-1993 European Technical Services Manager for Dow, Horgen Switzerland. Product Line Head. Responsible for biocides, chelants, food ingredients and water soluble polymers. Developed food ingredients business from scratch in Europe

1979-1984 Technical Manager R&D and Production. Amersham International, UK.  Radiochemicals and biotechnology products.
